  26. All nice and dandy, except if you use UUCP to get compressed news batches
  27. like me. There is _absolutely_ _no_ _way_ to exclude certain posts, unless
  28. you have an agreement with your provider to filter out posts above a
  29. certain length, or with certain contents _before batching_. This is not
  30. easily done, requires at least some programming knowledge and a 'special case
  31. agreement' which will cost you money, since the provider has to invest their
  32. valuable time. Even then the program or script to do this would have to be
  33. pretty intelligent to not throw away relevant articles and also get those
  34. spams that are smaller than an arbitrary limit of say, 100 KB per message.

  36. Most providers are not even willing to talk about something like that, it's
  37. just not worth their while.

  39. Nor do I want to change my system since it works to full satisfaction,
  40. it's still cheaper than reading news with NNTP or online.
